I guess since all others have been doin'it, I thought I'd say another "official" Hello!
I'm a border jumper! (not like SAL
) I live in Lafayette, Indiana. I have (well, My son Zach "Got") my 1972 Super, "Sunshine". She was a barn find a few years back. She was completely restored about 15 years ago now. All she needed was a good rub down, a new carb, and a set of tires to be ready to roll!
I also Have a 1978 Super "vert" called Ruby! She still needs a little TLC, but another great find!
I also have another.... A 1971 Standard, affectionately called "Sh!t-box" by my coworkers! Another barn find that will take me (or another of my choosing) a considerable amount of work to get her going as she has been parked in a garage since 1984!
I have always loved these little cars, I had a 73 Super when I was in high school, (in another life of course)
But after a marriage, mortgage, and two kids, I thought it was time to have some air-cooled fun once again!
You know me by my profile name "zwbeetle", but my real name is Doug! (or, "hey you", or "beer is over here", or "dinner time".. I'll answer to all of those too!)
